Workers’ compensation
A workplace injury may render you unable to return to your job for weeks, months, years—or even permanently. Employers are required by law to carry workers’ compensation insurance, which provides benefits to workers who suffer a work-related injury or occupational illness. Benefits are also available when the rigors of a job aggravate a pre-existing medical condition.
If you have been injured, it is important that you have a thorough understanding of the benefits for which you qualify. Douglas Rallo is a highly-skilled workers’ compensation lawyer with 30 years of experience in Illinois and throughout southeast Wisconsin.
Douglas Rallo is a highly-regarded Illinois and Wisconsin Workman’s Comp Attorney who’s been chosen for:
Who's Who in American Law
Who's Who in America
Kingston National Registry of Who's Who
He educates injured workers on the various types of workers’ comp benefits, including:
Medical care benefits: All past and future medical expenses—including first aid, medical, surgical, hospitalization and rehabilitation—constitute compensable medical care benefits. Should your injuries prevent you from returning to your job, you may recover benefits for vocational retraining. Every case is different, which is why it is imperative that you involve an experienced workers’ compensation attorney early in the process. Contact us for more information.
Temporary total disability benefits: Commonly referred to as TTD, temporary total disability benefits constitute compensation for wages lost while recovering from your injury or illness. Payments reflect two-thirds (66%) of your average weekly earnings for that employer during the year prior to your incident.
Permanent disability, disfigurement and death benefits: Permanent disability benefits are awarded to workers whose injury or illness has resulted in the permanent partial or total loss of mobility or normal bodily function. You may also be entitled to benefits if the accident caused scarring or disfigurment.
“Third party claims”: If your on-the-job injury was caused by the negligence of a third party, you may have TWO cases from one accident: a workers’ compensation claim along with a negligence claim against the third party.
Survivors’ benefits are paid to the immediate family when a workplace accident results in the death of a loved one. Call 847.816.8780 or email us for more information.
