    Dear Doug:

I want to let you know how grateful I am, for what you did for my car accident case. You, Doug, are not just any lawyer but one with a big heart for your clients. You always seem to put your clients’ needs first and fight for what is fair, just and right.

    Dear Doug:

It is hard to sum up six years in a few words. I just want you to know how grateful I  am for all that you have done for me. I was reluctant to retain an attorney from the suburbs rather than downtown Chicago because most people believe that if they go downtown that they will get the best attorney They couldn‘t be more wrong.  When I had my first consultation with you I remember you telling me that you would make sure that I was compensated fairly, and you promised to keep me informed, and return my phone calls within a reasonable time. You went above and beyond to keep me informed and treated me with respect and dignity. No one will ever know the pain and trauma that I have dealt with and will continue to deal with. You taking the time to listen to your client cry on the phone about their frustrations and offer empathy with sincerity like you did for me, made me feel like a person rather than just a client The professional and personalized service that you provide to your clients is truly a reflection of what the best of the best is all about. I will be proud to refer you to others. You have brought closure for me and my family. I wish you the very best of luck with your new office and your future endeavors, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for protecting my rights.

    God Bless
    Judy C.

Douglas Rallo seems to me to be an unusually dedicated and conscientious person who would bring distinction to the law. My judgment is that he has the scholastic ability for real achievement in the profession; but beyond that, I think he has practical wisdom and the urge to make the law a creative force in the environs of our communities.

Thanks for being an attorney with a heart. You're Awesome.

Douglas Rallo always had time to answer my questions and would often call to see how I was doing. Besides his professionalism and his knowledge of workers' compensation law, what impressed me most was his "open door policy". I used it many times. This allowed me more time to concentrate on my physical and vocational rehabilitation. Doug is a good man as well as a good attorney. It's been almost a year since my case was settled and I was totally happy with the outcome.

    Doug:

This injury of Jen's has turned our lives upside down. Sometime I lay in bed at night and pray that she could just be back to the way she was.

I take great comfort in the fact that we have you on our side fighting for us. Doug, the world would be a lot better place if there was more people like you in it.

Thank you doesn't even begin to express the gratitude my family and I feel towards you.

Doug is very attentive to our members' needs: he gets good and fast results for T.T.D. benefits when they are off work; he makes sure medical treatment is provided and that bills are paid; his settlements or trial results are completely satisfactory. More than that, he is always available when we need him, by phone or at the office. He is liked, personally, by those of us he represents, and he has genuine beliefs in support of our brotherhood.

    Dear Doug:

Congratulations on your victory! I am gratified that the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago has upheld a jury award for the loss of the value of the pleasure of life (hedonic loss) in a case. Sherrod v. Berry, 85-3151, which you originated before Judge Leighton in Federal District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

I would like to go on record as affirming that you were solely and exclusively responsible for initiating the idea of seeking hedonic damages in wrongful death claims and for successfully arguing to the District Court that my testimony regarding this type of loss should be allowed into evidence in that case.

Judge Leighton summarized his reasons for allowing the testimony in 629 F.Supp. 159 (1985). Appeals Judge Walter Commings affirmed that decision stating that such testimony "was invaluable to the jury in enabling it to perform its function in determining the most accurate and probable" estimate of the value of Serrod's life.

The consequence of your efforts has been to raise the collective consciousness of our legal system regarding the value of humankind. I feel privileged to be a part of that effort.

    Sincerely,

    Stanley V. Smith, President
